What to do on World Cup Football match day
Plan your activities on World cup football match day
Lots of excitement and the wait is almost over for all the soccer fans to see the world's biggest sporting event getting started in South Africa. How ever busy you are ensure that you do not miss even a single world cup football match and if you do so, plan to watch the recording of the match or at least see the highlights.
What to do on the match day?
Check the timings of the match, ensure that you map the match timings with your local time
Check the number of matches being played on each day
Check the teams - if your favorite team is playing then skip everything and sit near the TV :)
Read the previews of the match, understand the strength and weakness of each team
Do not make any plans on the match day, I am planning to skip work, it is your call
If you are planning to watch with friends and family then do so along with some good drink and food - enjoy the match
You can also check out for the matches being telecast in giant screens in restaurants, hotels, public places - it will be more exciting to watch along with huge crowd
If you are in the stadium watching the game live then most of the above things may not apply :)
Wish the very best to your team and hope that they win the cup.

Points table and team standings
As you all know we have 8 groups in this world cup and they are named from Group A to Group H. Each group has 4 teams and each team within a group will play with the other team. So it is very important for us to track the points table and team standings of each group in this Football world cup.
Get back to this post after each match is complete to see how the teams stand in their respective groups. Since the number of matches before stage 2 are very less there are high chances that more than one country in each group may end up having the same number of points. In this case the Goals For (goals scored), Goals Against (goals given) will be a crucial factor in deciding the standings of that group. This is arrived by subtracting Goals for with goals against.
