World Cup Football Results of defending champions
Only two times in the history of world cup football the defending champions managed to retain the coveted trophy. Italy managed to do this in 1938 and Brazil in 1962. Surprisingly other than these two performances none of the defending champions managed to even enter the semi finals of any World cup tournament while defending the trophy.
